I am often asked which is the best country I have visited - but how do you evaluate the best country?

There are many things to take into consideration… people, scenery, food, culture, history, personal reasons for visiting etc.

I guess it would be like you having 144 meals then someone asking you which was best!

So, after some consideration I have compiled a list (alphabetically) of my top 10 countries. They are not necessarily the "best" countries in the world — they are simply the ones I have enjoyed visiting the most.

Please remember that this list reflects my own personal experiences. My opinions are based on the places I visited, the people I met and the moments I experienced. Someone else's list could be completely different, and that's part of the joy of travel.

No doubt this list will evolve over time. As I continue to travel — and as memories are revisited — I may well decide to make a few changes.
