A selection of 200 photographs (out of 762) taken on my travels to Kazakhstan. The pictures are of Aktobe, Astana, Burabay and Almaty. [Please click on the thumbnail images to enlarge. Some maybe little blurred due to rushing the shot - or taking through a travelling bus window etc] I hope you will read my blog of this visit - and these pictures can be used in conjunction with the relevant part (13 June onwards) of the blog.

My thoughts: My main objective was to visit my friend Ansagan but obviously I thoroughly enjoyed the travel too. I was surprised how modern and impressive Astana was. Really enjoyed my time with Ansagan and seeing his country! Please note that the photographs are as originally taken and not enhanced by any means.

A selection of 100 (out of 438) photographs taken on my visit to Kazakhstan. The main purpose of my visit was to meet up with a young man from Kazakhstan (Ansagan) who I met in China a few years previous. He turned out to be an excellent host and I had a wonderful time meeting his family and friends - and seeing the city of Atyrau and the surrounding area with him. I hope you will read my blog of this visit - which gives some indication of the great friendships that can be built through travel - and these pictures can be used in conjunction with the relevant part (6-11 Sept) of the blog.

My thoughts: I really enjoyed my visit to Kazakhstan - a mixture of Russia, Europe and America. I was lucky though... I had a great guy - Ansagan - to ensure my visit was so good!
