DATE(S) VISITED
A selection of 87 photographs (out of 148) taken on my travels in Haiti. The pictures are from the border with the Domican Republic by road to Port-au-Prince - the capital of Haiti. Please note that the photographs are as originally taken and not enhanced by any means. I hope you will read my blog of my travels and experiences - and these pictures can be used in conjunction with the relevant part (07 - 09 Oct) of the blog.
My thoughts: There were a number of serious issues I had to consider both before and during these travels. These included the pending and aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, the dangerous levels of crime, the very poor levels of hygiene, the threat of serious illnesses, warnings that it was too dangerous (a missionary worker had been shot dead along a nearby road to the hotel - just 3 weeks prior to my visit). Whilst I enjoyed visiting (in my own way) I was also a little relieved to leave the country unscathed.
